If you only have one day to spend in Tokyo, not including transfers to and from the airport, then this full packed itinerary has been designed to visit the well known tourist spots while considering the time to travel between the destinations with few train transfers.

Embark on a one-day journey through Tokyo’s top tourist spots. Begin in Ueno to explore Ueno Park and visit the Ameyoko Shopping Street. Travel 10 minutes to Asakusa for Senso-ji Temple and Nakamise Shopping Street and the nearby Tokyo Sky Tree. From here, you can choose between Akihabara or Diver City then have lunch after shopping at Ginza or proceed to Tsukiji Outer Market for food. From Ginza, travel to Tokyo Tower then Shibuya Scramble Crossing and Hachiko Statue. Conclude in Shinjuku and Ikebukuro famous for their night life and bars.

For this 1 day itinerary, it is best to use an IC Card for the transporation since you will be moving to different train lines and different train operators. A 1 day subway pass or JR pass is not practical for this.
